Hello Student,

Seats in JEE Main are reserved after considering factors like the student’s caste, gender and quota based on the Indian Government’s policy on the reservation of seats. Candidates belonging to the Other Backward class (Non-Creamy Layer), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC) and Person with Disability (PwD) with 40% or more disability fall under the reserved category and are allotted seats as per JEE Main reservation of seats 2018. The reservation criteria of JEE Main 2018 also includes criteria related to home state quota and other state quota based on which admission is offered by the participating institutes. To claim seats under the reserved category, candidates have to produce valid documents at the time of JEE Main counselling and seat allotment process.
