let me apprise you again what actually the question is..... multiply cos(theta) by the bracket of sin(theta) plus sqrt of one plus sin 2 (alpha) the underlined portion of the problem is kept inside the bracket & then whole bracket is multiplied by cos(theta). it is to prove that the max& min value of the expression lies between plus minus sqrt of one plus sin 2 (alpha)

Hi,

Its still confusing.
If you put alpha=0 than max value has to be 1.
But lets put theta as 45. Than the value of expression well get is [root(2)+1]/2 which is grater than 1
So the max value doesnt holds.
