i am in general category.....what is the min. rank should i get in order to qualify into an iit?

iit have a sum total of 10,500 seats now , so, with that also , there are some seats reserved for catagory students . 
so, if u are general , then u have to get rank within 6500-7000 to get selected in one of the lower iit . 
that all depend upon the type of ques paper , no of seats and the student that are participated in councelling . maybe there will be some new iit will be functional from next year , so, keep yourself update with these things .
