It depends on you. How much time you take to understand concepts.. Some students take 2 hours to understand a topic.. others 1 hour for the same topic..
In general, 2 hours of self study is essential + coaching..

There is a general saying of people that u really need to put a lot of effor for IIT.

But it all depends on the student as if you are very clear on concepts and not in knowledge level and stand at an application level, then you need to study all the time.

Ideally u can go for coaching for IIT or at home you could devote 2 to 3 hours mastering math, physics and chemistry concepts at an higher order thinking level.
