Dear Student ,Here , in this case the angular speed of the disc is ω which is freely rotating on a smooth horizontal plane .It is hooked at a rigid peg about P without bouncing when the disc collides with the peg then after collision , let the angular speed be ω' .Now the whole case takes time = t and here the change in angular speed in time t is angular acceleration α .Now angular speed after collision will be ,ω'=(ω+αt )+atrNow this change in angular acceleration is due to sum of rotational motion and translational motion of the peg.Here ω+αt =is due to the rotational motion and atr =is due to the linear translational motion where r is the radius of the disc.Hope this helps you .
