a calorimeter contains 50g of water at 50c.the temperature falls to 45c in 10 min.when the calorimeter contains 100gm of water at 50c it takes 18min for the temperatue to become 45c. find the wate equivalent of the caloimeter

Let water be calorimeter-equivalent w.

Temperature-change = 5°C

water of Specific heat = 4200

Rate of heat flow is given by

q = msdelT/t

Step 2:

first case

q1 = (w+ 50*10-3)*4200*5/10

second case
q2 =(w+ 50*10-3)*4200*5/18

From the theory of calorimeters these two heat flow rates should be equal to one another.

q1 = q2
w = 12.5g

Let S={x:x belongs to R(√3+√2)^(x^2-4) - (√3-√2)^(x^2-4)=10}. Then n(S) is equal to-
