The focal length of converging lens is measured for violet, green and red colours. It is respectively f v , f g , f r , We will get (a) f v = fg (b) f g > f r (c) f v r (d) f v > f r

The focal length of converging lens is measured for violet, green and red colours. It is respectively fv, fg, fr, We will get

        (a)    fv = fg

(c)

According to Cauchy relation

.''. Red light has wavelength greater than violet light.

Therefore focal length of lens for red is greater than for violet.

(fr >  fv)

Fv>fg
Bcz f is inversely proportional to lemda
We know wavelength of red is max
