Why we use only benzene and carbon tetrachloride in ultrasonic experiment to find velocity Why we use only benzene and carbon tetrachloride in ultrasonic experiment to find velocity
Benzene(10 °C and 70°C) and Carbon tetrachloride(5 °C and 70°C) under pressures up to 2500 atm is used to determine velocity in ultrasound experiments. The physical properties such as density, refractive index, freezing point and boiling point are found to agree well with the reliable values in literatures. In benzene the pressure dependence coincide with values of Richardson and Tait at 25°C and 40°C under pressures up to 600 atm. Thanks & Regards, Vasantha Sivaraj, askIITians faculty.
