why pendulum oscillates due to gravity? also explain the term restoring force (here in this case it is gravity)?

Because the torque which it gets is gue to the mg force acting on it.
which is able to oscillates it in to and fro motion at the point of contact hence.
And ue to inertia and equilibriumthe pendulum get balanced at its mean position due to the force called Restoring Force.
