Why a concave lens is used to correct myopia ? Give reason for thefollowing question.

Myopia is a eye defect in which the close objects is seen distinctly while the far objects are seen blurred.It is caused due to two factors:-i.If the eyeball is lengthened from front to back or,ii.The eye lens is too curved.We use a concave lens in such case as it first diverges the light ray before entering the eye so that the image is formed on retina and nowhere else.
