What are eddy currents. How are these produced? In what sense are eddy currents considered undesirable in a transformer and how are these reduced in such a device?

Eddy currents(also called Foucaultcurrents) are circular electriccurrentsinduced within conductors by a changing magnetic field in the conductor, due to Faraday's law of induction.Eddy currentsflow in closed loops within conductors, in planes perpendicular to the magnetic field.
