Let these force are

F1 = F $\hat{i}$

F2 = F $\hat{j}$

Then resultant force

F_r = F( $\hat{i}$ + $\hat{j}$ )

so angle beteen F_r and F1

cos $\Theta$ = ( $\hat{i}$ + $\hat{j}$ ).( $\hat{i}$ )/ $\sqrt{2}.1$ = $1/ \sqrt{2}$

Then $\Theta$ = 45
