see whenever you take two objects of different masses and throw them from a certain height the force acting on both of them... depends upon their masses since they are being contantly accelerated towards earth. Considering a heavier and a lighter object the force on heavier will be more than the lighter one.
now, in case of air friction. let us take an example of paper and a ball .Modern theories of friction say that force of friction actually depends on area of contact so paper will be acted upon by more friction thereby reaching later to ground than ball.
But if the state is of vacuum( without air friction) , force acting on both will still be the same. that is heavier object having higher force than lighter but since the heavier object has more inertia so more is force required to make it fall thereby both paper and stone will fall at same speed.
remember if such experiment is performed by you . U need to take two objects of same shaoe and size so both are acted upon by same friction thus helping u obtain the same results as in case of vacuum conditions.
