The short Jee way is seeing the symmetry and noticing that charge is conserved here so both spheres have a charge of (+5/2) in equilibrium.
THE REAL WAY is to use potential after all when you connect these 2 spheres the potential at the points you connect them become equal,
so V1=V2 will happen only once the charges are equal .
AS you connect the wire the charge instantly flows from one to the other to make the potential equal.

							But sir charge on an object is quantized so how is this possible to have a fractional charge 2.5e on each sphere
