Using 2-D vector notation, this can be expressed as (30,0)+(0,40)=(30,40). So you get a net force with components of 30N along one axis and 40N along the other, giving a magnitude (via Pythagoras’ theorem) of 50N at an angle to the first axis of arctan(3/4), which is about 37 degrees
