using relation,
1/v+1/u=1/f
u=infiniteinfinite
v=f=R/2=15/2=7.5 cm
diameter of sun /distance of sun=0.5 deg= \pi/360rad
since, angular diameter=0.5=actual diametere of sun/distance of sun from the pole
diametere of image/diametere of sun =v/u= distance of  image/ distance of sun
=7.5/distance of sun
diameter of sun /distance of sun 7.5
=7.5 x \Pi/360= 3.75 cm
