The resistance of a bulb filament is 100 O at a temperature of 100°C. If its temperature coefficient of resistance be 0.005 per °C, its resistance will become 200 O at a temperature of (a) 200°C (b) 300°C (c) 400°C (d) 500°C

The dependence of resistance on the temperature is given by the expression
R=R_{0}[1+\alpha (T-T_{0})]
here, R= 200 ohms,R_{0}= 100 ohms,T_{0}=100 degree celcius = 373 K and\alpha= 0.005
Puuting the values in the equation, we get T= 573 K i.e. 300 degree celcius.
