mass of oil  = reading of weighing machine – mass of empty vessel
mass of oil  = 990.54 g – 10.32 g
mass of oil  = 980.22 g
Since least count is 0.01 g, the mass of oil can be plus or minus 0.01 g  i.e. 980.23 g or 980.21 g.
Hence absolute error is +0.01 g  or  – 0.01 g.
