The effect of gravitation is seen more on liquid than that of solid. Why?

The forces (intermolecular) present in liquids is very less as compared to those in solids. Solids have a tight binding and strong packing and experience strong ionic/covalent forces. This is absent in case of liquids. The packing is loose as compared to solids.
