Dear student,

There are three laws provided by kepler that describe the motion of planets in their orbits.

1. All planets move about Sun in elliptical orbits with Sun as one of the focii of the given ellipse.

2. The radius vector from Sun to Earth swipes equal areas in equal time.
Hence the speed of planet near to Sun is greater than that farther from Sun.

3. The square of side-real time period of revolution of planet around the Sun is direcltly proportional to the cube of the mean distance of the planet from the Sun.
