In resnick and halliday Each chapter contains a description of physical principles. It is well supported by mathematical derivations of equation, description of laboratory experiments, historical backgrounds, etc followed by solved examples.Chapters likeElectro Magnetism, Rotation and Wave Opticshave been covered very well in this book.
The book 'fundamentals of Physics' is the book for iitjee preparatio.In edition wise any edition will do.But be sure to have basic concepts cleared from NCERT
