As we know
E = hc/\lambda
Now
E = e * V = hc/\lambda
e = 1.6 * 10^-19
h = 6.626 * 10^-34 J - sec
c = 3 * 10^8 m/sec
\lambda = 0.5 nm = 0.5 * 10^-9 m
Use these value and find V in volts

Hello Vaishali,
Well, the electron stops, when it’s velocity is zero. Therefore, 1/2mv2=0. Therefore, eV - hc/\Lambda=o. Therefore, V= v=hc/e\Lambda. Substitute standard values for the given quantities, h=planck’s constant, c= velocity of light, e= charge on electron, \Lambda= de broglie wavelength. You’ll have your answer.
