Q.the displacement of a particle executing SIMPLE HARMONIC MOTION is given by the equation y = 3sin314t + 4cos314t where y is in cm. and t is in second ,then calculeting the amplitude.

A(resultant)=\sqrt {A1^{2}+A2^{2}}
A1=3
A2=4
A(resultant)=√25=5units
Also the second equation can be written in form of sin by adding a phase difference of Π|2!
