The thing you missed is the fact that the system was released suddenly from rest. So, the block C will execute a SHM in this case.
 
Let us suppose the block C moves down by a max displacement of x m.
Therefore, change in Gravitational Potential Energy = m1gx
Now, this energy is actually stored in the spring.
So, Energy stored in spring = mgx
 
Thus,
     1/2(kx2) = m1gx
or, x = 2m1g/k
 
So, max force applied on Block A = kx = 2m1g
Thus min coefficient of friction required = 2m1g/mg = 2m1/m
