Limitations of Boyle’s law:

  • Holds good for ideal gas only
  • Holds good when temperature is constant.
  • Holds good for that sample of ideal gas which has constant mass (closed system only or no-mass interaction system)

Charles' Law (that volume is proportional to absolute temperature at fixed pressure) applies only to ideal classical gases. No material is an exactly ideal gas, and none is even close to being an ideal gas at very low temperatures.
