Since momentum is vector quantity
so momentum toward the wall=mvcos45=mv/ $\sqrt$ 2
and momentum of ball while going back=-mv/ $\sqrt$ 2 since momentum remains conserved but direction is opposite
Momentum change=mv/ $\sqrt$ 2-(-mv/ $\sqrt$ 2)
2mv/ $\sqrt$ 2= $\sqrt$ 2 mv
