If a car is moving horizontally with a velocity of 10 m s-1, and it has to have energy of 5 joules per second. What would be the force?

We know that
power = work / time ….........(1)
and work = force * displacement …...........(2)
 
 
So putting (2) in (1)
we get power=(force*dispacement)/time
 
 
Now displacement/time=velocity
so
power = force * velocity.......(3)
 
 
Hence for 5 joules/sec
Force=\frac{Power}{Velocity}= \frac{5}{10} 
Hence 
Force= 0.5N
