Sunlight travels at the speed of light. Photons emitted from the surface of the Sun need to travel across the vacuum of space to reach our eyes.sunlight an average of8 minutes and 20 secondsto travel from the Sun to the Earth.

Sunlightis a portion of theelectromagnetic radiationgiven off by theSun.OnEarth, sunlight isfilteredthrough theEarth's atmosphere, and is obvious asdaylightwhen the Sun is above thehorizon. When the direct solar radiation is not blocked by clouds, it is experienced assunshine, a combination of brightlightandradiant heat. When it is blocked by the clouds orreflects off other objects, it is experienced as diffused light.

The distance from the Earth to the Sun varies because the Earth`s orbit about the Sun is elliptical. At it`s closest, the distance is 91,402,000 miles and it`s farthest distance it is 94,512,000 miles. This gives an average distance of 92,957,000 miles. Light travels at 186,282 miles per second. Dividing the average distance by the speed of light gives 499.01225 seconds which is 8.3168708 minutes. Rounded off, let`s say 8 minutes and 18 seconds. YES It is so far from our earth EXPLONATION:- This means that at 110 light-years away from earth — the edge of a radio ‘sphere’ which contains many star systems — our very first radio broadcasts are beginning to arrive. At 74 light-years away, television signals are being introduced. Star systems at a distance of 50 light-years are now entering the ‘Twilight Zone’.
