\vec{a} = 2\hat{i} +3\hat{j}
\vec{b} =  \hat{i} +\hat{j}
\vec{c} = \hat{i} - \hat{j}
component of vector a across vector b = acos\Theta = \vec{a}.\vec{b}/|\vec{b}| =  5/\sqrt{2}
 
component of vector a across vector c = acos\Theta = \vec{a}.\vec{c}/|\vec{c}| =  -1/\sqrt{2}
