Electric potential at any point P due to  electric dipole is given by
 V=p*cosθ/4πε0(r2-a2 cos2 θ)                         
If r>>a;
V = p*cosθ/4πε0r2
where p = q*2a
 θ = angle between line joing the point P andmid point of dipole and axis of dipole
 r = distance of point P from centre of dipole.
