Calculate the Tension in the string first and apply the formulae as:
stress = Force/Area
2g – T = 2a
and
T – g = a
Solving both the eqns. we get,
T = > 4g/3 N
Stress = T/pir^2 => 4g/2*10^9*3 = r^2
r = 6.66 * 10^-9 m
