can a vector have zero component along a line and still have non zero magnitude?

Yes,a vector can have zero components along a line and still have non zero magnitude it can have a y components of zero and x components have non zero which will equal to non zero magnitude .For examaple 2 dimensional vector 1i+0j  and the  magnitude of this is equal to 1.

yes,a vector can have zero component aling a line ant still have non zero magnitude.it can have a y component of zero and non zero x component,which will be equal to non zero magnitude                                            like, 2 dimentional vector 1i+0j will have a magnitude of √(1^2 + 0^2)= 1
