ANSWER
The equivalent resistance for arm BCD is R1=5+10=15Ω
The equivalent resistance for the arm BE is R2=(1/30+1/10+1/15)−1=5
The potential between points B and E is VBE=IR2=(0.2)(5)=1V
Now applying KVL for left side mesh, 8−3=VBE+0.2R+15(0.2)
or 5=1+0.2R+3 or R=5Ω
