An elastic sphere initially has a diameter of 1 m and contains a gas at pressure of 1 atm.Due to heat transfer the diameter of the sphere increses to 1.1 atm.During the heating process the gas presssure inside the sphere is propotional to the sphere diameter.Calculate the work done by the gas.

P1= 1 bar = 100kPa
d1= 1.1m
P IS PROPORTIONAL TO d
P = Kd (where K is a constant)
therefore,
(P1/d1)=K=(P2/d2)
100/1=K
therefore, K =1
FROM K=1
AND d2=1.1m
therefore,
P2= 100kPa
FROM GRAPH(P vs V),(Area under the curve)
W= 1/2(P1+P2)(V2-V1)
P1=100kPa , P2 = 110kPa ,V1=0.52m^3,V2=O.7m^3(volume is found by volume of sphere formula)
W = 18.9KJ
