A wheel of radius R is placed on ground and it`s contact point is `P`. If the wheel starts rolling without slipping and completes half a revolution, find the displacement of point P.

under root pi square X r square plus 4r square because the revolution distance is pi X r acting as base and the diameter acts as perpendicular then by pythagoras theorem we found the answer

Given: P is the point of contact firstly which is ideal.  After half rotation let us assume that the circle is in contact with ground at point A.  Thus,  the horizontal distance moved in half rotation = pie r  therefore, displacement = underroot of pie r square + underroot of 2r square is equal to r into underroot of pie square + 4
