A vertical cylindrical tank contains 1.80 mol of an ideal gas under a pressure of 1.00 atm at 20.0oC. The round part of the tank has a radius of 10.0 cm, and the gas is supporting a piston that can move up and down in the cylinder without friction.(a) What is the mass of this piston?(b) How tall is the column of gas that is supporting the piston?

P=1 atm=1.01325*10^5 Pa
A=pi*(0.1)^2=pi/100 m^2
Fgas/on/piston= PA= pi*1.01325 *10^3 N
W=F
Therfore , mass= F/g=pi*1.01325/9.8*10^3 kg
volume of cylinder = volume of the ideal gas
= nRT/P
