Let’s make a reasonable assumption that V>v
So, the train must reduce its velocity from V to v within a distance of x to avoid the collision.
 
Thus, V2=v2+2ax
or, a=(V2-v2)/2x
 
So, I am sorry Anuj, since none of the answers match.
