A thermocouple is made from two metals, Antimony and Bismuth. If one junction of the couple is kept hot and the other is kept cold then, an electric current will (a) flow from Antimony to Bismuth at the cold junction (b) flow from Antimony to Bismuth at the hot junction (c) flow from Bismuth to Antimony at the cold junction (d) not flow through the thermocouple

Dear student

Bismuth comes before Antimony in the thermoelectric series. At the cold junction, current flows from metal that is later in thermoelectric series to the one that is earlier in the thermoelectric series. Hence at the cold end, current will flow from Antimony to Bismuth.

In viewing through a magnifying glass, one usually positions one's eyes very close to the lens. Does angular magnification change if the eye is moved back?
