A swimmer wishes to reach directly opposite bank of a river, flowing with a speed of 8m/s . The swimmer can swim 10m/s in still water . The width of the river is 480m. Time taken by him to do so is...?

Dear Student,
The width of the river is 480 m.
Relative velocity = 2m/s
Then the time = distance/velocity
                       = 480/2
                       = 240 sec
