A stable body of mass 4m explodes into three parts.if two parts of mass mmoves with velocity v perpendicularly then find out velocity of the third part of mass 2m.find out the increase in kinetic energy after explosion.(solve by explaining each step)..

as external force is zero so momentum will be conserved.
0 = mv \hat{i} + mv \hat{j} + 2mx
so x = -(\hat{i}+\hat{j})v/2
magnitude of velocity = v/\sqrt{2}
increse in KE = 2*½*m*v2 + ½*2m*(v2/2) = 3mv2/2
