as external force is zero so momentum will be conserved.
0 = mv \hat{i} + mv \hat{j} + 2mx
so x = -(\hat{i}+\hat{j})v/2
magnitude of velocity = v/\sqrt{2}
increse in KE = 2*½*m*v2 + ½*2m*(v2/2) = 3mv2/2
