a particle starts with an initial velocity u and passes succesively over two halves of a given distance with acceleration f and f’ respectively. prove that the final velocity v wil be the same as of the entie distance were travelled with an uniform acceleration 1/2(f+f’)

Dear Student,
Let the half separation = x 
For the initial segment travel 
v2=u2+2xfx/2 
For the second part travel, 
vf2=u2+2fx+2f ⁰x 
=>vf=√(u^2+2fx+2f⁰x) 
at the point when avg speeding up is (f+f⁰)/2 
vf2=u2+2(f+f⁰)x2x/2 
=> vf=√(u^2+2fx+2f⁰x) 
Henceforth equivalent. Demonstrated.
