The weight of book is acting downward while a horizontal force of 2.5 kgwt is holding the book. Book is also applying normal reaction N of 2.5 kgwt on hand.
therefore  mg = frictional force, f
mg = n N ;   n = coeffeicient of friction
n = 1/(2.5) = 0.4
