as force = mass x acceleration = momentum
                                                         time
so force is inversely proportional to time that mean on increasing time, force will decrease ,
by slowly lowering of hand he increase the time of impact of force created by ball on his hand,
as a result he experience less force.

As force=mv-mu/tTherefore force=mass×change in velocity /timeTherefore if the cricket player will lower his hand then the time will increase So, the force exerted on the hands of the cricket player will decrease so he will catch the ball safely

The formula of force is given as:-Force=mass×rate of change of velocity (acceleration) In this case though the mass is small but the acceleration is much more and to decrease its impact the hand should be lowered so that hand is not damaged

As Force=momentum/time,the more the time he takes for catching the ball the less the force acts on him so the cricketer lowers his hand after catching the ball

it reduces the force of the incoming ball since f=ma.HENCE the cricketer lowers his hand after catching the ball
hope you got clarified
