The resistance of a copper wire is given by the formula,
R = p x l / a         where p is the resistivity of copper, l is the length of the copper wire and a is its cross-sectional area.

So from this expression you can see that increasing the length of the wire by n times will increase its resistance by n times and hence decrease the current by n times. Whereas, increasing the cross-sectional area of the wire by n times will decrease its resistance by n times and hence increase the current by n times.

Hope it helps!
