Use work energy  theorum,
First find velocity at  the instant when the body is released using v=(2gh)^1/2.
Since  catapult  has 2 strings  then effective spring constant becomes (2k).
(mv^2)/2=(2kΔx^2)/2
Here k=YA/l.
Y-youngs modulus
A -Area
Δx-extension
l-length of each string
m-mass of object
v--velocity
