Dear Jaya,
v- u2= 2 a S   -------- eq.1
v=final velocity
u=initial velocity
a=accelerartion(in this case retardation)
S=distance travelled
On solving;
by converting given speeds which are in km/hr to m/s by multiplying the speeds by 5/18;
we get, accelaration=-2 m/s or -0.555km/hr.(- sign indicates retardation)
v = u + a t -------eq.2
t=time taken.
time taken = 10 sec on solving.
