Dear Student,
A body voyaging takes a u turn implies it was going in an impediment r=-a 
So after some time when the speed winds up plainly zero the course of movement will change since the increasing speed would move toward becoming +ve for the body. Subsequently the U turn. 
v=u+at 
=>0=54x1000/60 – ax10 
=>a=90m/s2
