Remenber  that
momentum=mass×velocity
Or,p=mv
In this case the velocity v makes an angle theta with the vertical.So vertical component or y component of velocity is vy=vcostheta and horizontal component of velocity is vx=vsintheta.
As mass is constant,so change is momentum will correspond to change in velocity.Now velocity changes according to the equation
v=u+ft
In this problem,acceleration f only has a vertical component g(due to earths gravitational field)and there is no acceleration in the horizontal direction(as we have not applied any horizontal force)..So
fy=g and fx=0.
vx=ux+fxt
or,vx=ux
Therefore velocity along x direction does not change during the motion.So there is no change in momentum along x direction.
