Find the molecular mass of water: H20 --> 2*1.008 + 16.00 = 18.016 g/mol
Find how many moles of water molecules you have in 16.87 g of ice:
16.87 g H2O (1 mole H2O/ 18.016 g H2O) = 0.936 moles of H2O
Melting ice is a an endothermic process so the ΔH will be positive.

Just use dimensional analysis to find the answer: E = 6.02 kJ/mol (0.936 moles H2O) = 5.64 kJ of energy.

And about the cost, why would anyone would like to melt ice?? u can simply use water for free :P
