can an object have an eastward velocity experiencing a westward acceleration?

Yes it can. If the speed of the object is decreasing.

Hi Suchin,

 

Yes it is ery much possible.

Say a car is travelling east whicle the breakes are applied.

So the velocity of the car is in the eastern direction but as breakes are applied it retards, meaning the accn is westward.

yes it is possible like in case of de-acceleration of an object moving eastward with some velocity
